What Is a 2B Stainless Steel Finish?
2B is one of the most common cold-rolled stainless steel finishes.
It is produced after cold rolling, annealing, pickling, and a light finishing pass. The result is a smooth, uniform, low-reflective surface.
2B is widely used for fabrication, food equipment, tanks, appliances, and general industrial applications because it provides a clean surface without the higher cost of decorative polishing.
How Does No.1 Finish Differ?
No.1 is a hot-rolled, heat-treated, and pickled finish.

What Are BA and No.4 Finishes?
BA, or Bright Annealed, has a smoother and more reflective appearance than 2B.

No.4 is a mechanically polished finish with a visible directional grain. It is widely used for architectural panels, kitchen equipment, elevators, and decorative fabrication.
The important difference is that BA gains its brightness mainly from processing conditions, while No.4 gets its appearance through abrasive polishing.
